The women’s program aims to promote women’s development options and to promote women’s protection, healing and equality at all levels of society. Women have been abused and marginalized culturally, socio-economically and politically for so long that they remain on the periphery as the silent background of the men’s world in this province and country.
Therefore the province and country remains undeveloped, poor and performing poorly in most social indicators as compared to the rest of the region. It is the expressed desire of the EHFV to reach out to women to unshackle them from all forms of domination, abuse, oppression and depression and unleash this potent and latent power lying dormant in women to have space, a voice and participate meaningfully as equals in the development process of this country.
